This is the 1,300th post on this blog since it began in September 2005. Had anyone suggested that it would still be around and still going strong, I would not have believed it.
1,300 posts is a LOT of posts.
I appreciate all of you. I treasure my interactions with all of you here, which is, in large part, why this blog is still around and still going strong. Thank you for your support in the past, and thank you for your support going forward. And with your continued support, it will continue to go forward….
Thank you to all of you who indulge my rantings. It means more to me than I can say.

Hi Eric
Congrats on your milestone. I’ve enjoyed your blog since I discovered it in 2006. After you mentioned Thomas Munford in a recent post, I used your search option to find other information on him. Always interesting to hear what other people think about various cavalry leaders. I think Munford was very competent and should have been promoted.

Congratulations. There is n ongoing debate about the merits and quality of Civil War blogsites. Rantings is one of those “exhibits” which requires summary judgment for rthe defense. If a blog’s purpose is to inform based on reliable, thorough research and analysis, this one is a paradigm. Let’s shoot for the next 1300.
Many congratulations, Eric. Your fulsome and definitive blog has educated most and infuriated some. Those in the latter category know who they are, and “just desserts” is their eternal reward.
As for the rest of us, “Play ball!”
Congratulations on the milestone. These blogs are sure a work of love. I never figured to spend so much time on anything and I’m sure you do as well.
Keep it up.
