I hereby nominate this new blog for the 2009 Most Irritating Civil War Blogger Award. This guy insists on wasting other people’s bandwidth to announce his every blog post, and then he does so by referring to himself in the third person. Here’s a prime example of what I’m talking about here. Now, I’m all for shameless self-promotion, and I’ve certainly done more than my fair share of it. However, I have never once referred to myself in the third person in doing so.

The blog’s content is okay but pretty pedestrian. Although there’s nothing outstanding there, but he nevertheless feels compelled to tell the world whenever he posts, as if it’s announcing the publication of a new book. I can’t even begin to describe how annoying that is. Consequently, I have made a policy decision that including him in my blogroll would only encourage the behavior. Therefore, as long as he persists in such boorish behavior, I will never, ever include him in this blog’s blogroll.

    Hi Eric,

I certainly understand your frustration, but look at it from another perspective. There has been a great deal of emphasis on spreading blog posts and other Online postings between social networking sites. You have yet to include icons that allow your readers to easily share your posts with sites such as Twitter, Facebook, etc. I regularly share my posts via these buttons and hope others will do so as well. You have every right to control the content of your sites, but what this individual is doing is pretty much standard practice for many bloggers.

    Just a thought.

Believe me,…I know this may come as a shock to some of you blogmeisters, but most of you guys are just not that interesting.

But hey, if the world must know that you’ve had another thought………….carry on.

Isn’t that calling the kettle black, Eric ? Regardless if you do or don’t do it in third person you do just as he does. I think you are reaching for a reason not to include his blog for whatever selfish reason you have. Knowing you I am sure it is cause he don’t have the exact same opinion as you do on things and that just bites your butt. One thing I can say good about you. You are totally honest when you say you are not against ” shameless self-promotion ” you are the KING at that, but for the most part your books are fairly good. I have 3 of them and got the fairly cheap.
