This evening, I have added a link to my friend Steve Cunningham’s excellent West Virginia in the Civil War website under the “Civil War Sites” category. Take a few minutes and check out Steve’s site, which is chock-full of good and useful information. You won’t be disappointed.

Thanks for giving “WV in the Civil War” some love. It really is a fantastic site, and I often read it at work. Don’t tell the boss.

Thank you very much for the link. I have found it difficult to obtain concentrated information on the war in Western Virginia as well as the Eastern Tennessee/Knoxville Campaign. Suggestions always welcome.

Also, as an FYI for those interested in this subject: the WV Div of Tourism has just commissioned a series of short videos on each region of the state and its role in the war. Each video is like 5-8 minutes, and offers a fairly good overview. I will warn you all, however…the narrator pronounces “cavalry” as “calvary”. Every time. The link can be found here: http://wvtourism.com/minisites/civilwar.aspx
