To all of my regular readers, Susan and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a delightful Festivus to all. I hope Santa was good to all of you, and that your stockings were filled with lots of good books and no lumps of coal. ๐Ÿ™‚

Time to go set up the aluminum pole, followed by airing of grievances, and finally, by the feats of strength…..

    Eric:

Merry Christmas to you and Susan as well. I did get one good book this year, the massive North Carolina dictionary by William S. Powell. I had Powell for History 160 at UNC many moons ago and it’s good to see that he’s still plugging along. May we all be that active and sharp in our later years. That would be a Festivus miracle! My grievance is that I’m at the office the day after Christams. Too short a holiday for me! Best regards,

    Randy

    Randy,

That makes two of us. Interestingly enough, the three of us who are here today are the three Jews. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hmm….lumps of coal…..

Before my bride and I were engaged, I actually put coal in her stocking…and told her if she put it under the same pressure she did me, well, she’d have her diamond…..

And, for reasons I’ll never quite understand, she STILL married me….

    Phil,

LOL. It does make you wonder, doesn’t it? ๐Ÿ™‚

    Great story–thanks for sharing.
