I guess there are at least a few recent Confederate biographies. I’ve read the bio of Tyree Bell – Hughes. I’ve also got a copy of the recent Basil Duke biography, just not gotten to it. One for sure I want to read is Longacre’s biography of Joe Wheeler. I find Wheeler interesting even though his record isn’t very impressive. Hopefully, The Western Theatere will continue to draw writers attention and result in more books worth reading.
