As to the issue of the fence, I have no idea. I have not read the permit and I know nothing of what has been or is allowed to be done.Because I am unsure of the facts in the matter, it is not my place to pass judgment on it.
Do I think John is a saint and unworthy of any criticism? No. Do I think he’s a man who is in a tough job trying to do things the way he believes are best? Yes. I think we all are so passionate about this issue that we quickly rush to form judgment of anyone involved who doesn’t do things the way we would.
If you had a job where hundreds of prominent people who weren’t involved watched every move you made, criticized every decsion you made, and where you had to fund one of the countries most-watched and scrutinzed battlefields with a budget that is reduced by the Federal government every year, would you be up to the task? I know I wouldn’t!
I’ll wrap this up with one more question. A lot of us have been quick to criticize Dr. Latschar, most of us without actually reading a lot of the facts or without ever personally talking to or knowing the man himself. Criticism is often based on the words of others (with their own agendas and their own personal bias). How many of you have ever spoken with him or asked him why he has done what he has, and what his goals are? I guess I am in the minority, because I have!
