Happy New Year!

I wish each and every one of you a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year. 2009 was a pretty crappy year no matter how you slice it, so here’s hoping that 2010 is a substantial improvement for all of us. I know 2009 won’t be missed around our household.

One Response to Happy New Year!

  1. George Brott Goltz says:

Hello, just wanted to introduce myself. I’m in the process of researching the life of my great-granduncle, Sylvanus Brott, who served in the 8th and 9th Illinois Cavalries 1861-1863, then again in 1865 after recovering from a wound suffered at the battle of Malvern Hill in 1862. Great to see your site. Sylvanus is a new discovery for me, just in the past two years. He was born in White Pigeon Michigan in 1840, then moved to McHenry County IL in 1845. He died in 1918 in Allegan Michigan and was a member of the local GAR there. Also lived in Cass County Iowa from 1868 (certain of that year) to about 1910 (I think). I’ve bookmarked your site and will be visiting again. Thanks very much for creating such an interesting historical web site.

    Sincerely,
    George Brott Goltz
